Take a peaceful walk through nature with the elephants of Freedom Elephant Reserve, a safe and caring home for elephants retired from hard labor. This sanctuary gives them the freedom to live naturally—no rides, no tricks, just space to be themselves.

During the Ethereal Nature Walk, you’ll get to observe the elephants up close in a relaxed and respectful way. The experience includes feeding, watching them enjoy a mud spa, and seeing them cool off in fresh mountain water. It’s more than just a visit—it’s a quiet moment to connect with these incredible animals.

There’s no rush here. Just you, nature, and elephants living the life they deserve.

Itinerary

• Begin your day with a warm welcome at the Freedom Elephant Reserve in Phuket, where the focus is on giving elephants a peaceful, natural life.
• After a short safety briefing and introduction to the sanctuary’s mission, it’s time to meet the elephants.
• Start by carrying a basket of fresh fruit to the feeding station. As the elephants enjoy their meal at their own pace, you’ll get a chance to observe their gentle nature up close.
• While you feed them, the guides will share the unique stories and backgrounds of each elephant, helping you understand their past and how far they’ve come.
• Once everyone’s been introduced, you’ll walk alongside the elephants as they make their way to the mud spa.
• Watch as they playfully coat themselves in mud—a natural way for them to protect their skin and stay cool. It’s a fun and important part of their daily care.
• The walk continues to a fresh mountain river flowing through the reserve. Here, the elephants wade through the water, splash around, and communicate with one another using rumbles and happy squeaks.
• You’ll have time to take photos, observe their playful behavior, and just enjoy being present in the moment.
• Before heading back, you may see them soak in a mineral pool—a peaceful end to their wellness routine.
• After one last goodbye to your new elephant friends, it’s time for a relaxed return journey to your hotel, with plenty of beautiful memories to take with you.

Remark: Please note that the tour itself lasts 1.5 hours; however, you will be away from your hotel for 2 to 3 hours, depending on its location on the island.

• Infants aged 0-3 will not be charged for this tour.
• Children aged 4-10 will be charged according to the child rate.
• Everyone else will be charged according to the child rate.

• Infants aged 0–3 years join free of charge; however, advance notice of their attendance is required.
• The Feed Me Experience operates daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and starts on the hour, every hour.

What to bring

• Sunscreen or lotion
• Insect repellent
• Towel to wipe off mud (optional)
• A cap or hat that protects your eyes and head from the sun
• Boots, trainers, or sneakers (terrain can be muddy during the wet season)
• Comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting wet or muddy
• A cup full of love for each elephant

Additional charges

• Pick-up from Mai Khao, Nai Yang, Nai Thon, and Layan: 250 THB per adult, 150 THB per child

• Pick-up from Ao Por Pier: 1,400 THB per private van

• Please show this ticket at the ticketing counter.
• This ticket is only valid for the booked date time.

Pre-Paid Booking

Freedom Elephant Reserve does not offer refunds for cancellations. All cancellation funds are redirected to the reserve’s support programs and evenly distributed across various elephant care and community initiatives.

Guests may reschedule their visit free of charge if notice is given at least 48 hours in advance.

For changes made on the same day or within 48 hours of the tour, transportation costs to and from the hotel will be charged.
