Freedom Elephant Reserve was created with a mission to offer a peaceful retirement to former working elephants, where care is provided with minimal human interference and only observation-based interactions.

This ethical sanctuary in Phuket focuses entirely on the well-being of the elephants, allowing them to roam freely in a natural environment without being used for shows, rides, or other exploitative activities.

The Feed Me Experience offers a short but meaningful encounter, lasting around 35 to 45 minutes. Guests are invited to stay for up to an hour, during which they can feed a basket of fruit to the elephants, take photos, gently touch the trunk (but not hug or climb), and ask questions about their lives and history.

This experience is especially suited for visitors with a tight schedule or limited budget, offering a rare chance to connect with elephants in a respectful, ethical way.

Entry is available between 09:00 and 16:30. Visitors are required to arrange their own transport to the reserve. 

• Infants aged 0-3 will not be charged for this tour.
• Children aged 4-10 will be charged according to the child rate.
• Everyone else will be charged according to the child rate.

• Infants aged 0–3 years can join free of charge. However, we must be notified of their attendance in advance.
• The Feed Me Experience runs daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and starts on the hour, every hour.

What to bring

• Sunscreen or lotion
• Insect repellent
• A towel to wipe off mud (optional)
• A cap or hat to protect your head and eyes from the sun
• Boots, trainers, or sneakers (the terrain can get muddy during the wet season)
• Comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting wet or dirty
• A cup full of love for each elephant

Pre-Paid Booking

Freedom Elephant Reserve does not offer refunds for cancellations. All cancellation funds are redirected to the reserve’s support programs and evenly distributed across various elephant care and community initiatives.

Guests may reschedule their visit free of charge if notice is given at least 48 hours in advance.

For changes made on the same day or within 48 hours of the tour, transportation costs to and from the hotel will be charged.
