Join us on November 15, 2024, for the enchanting Yi Peng Lanna Festival, a celebration steeped in tradition and beauty. According to the lunar calendar, this festival occurs on the 15th day of the waxing moon in the 12th lunar month, also known as the full moon day of the second lunar month. For the Lanna people of northern Thailand, it's a cherished occasion marking the release of lanterns into the heavens—a key element of the Loy Krathong Festival celebrated nationwide.

Experience the magic of the Yi Peng tradition, deeply rooted in Buddhist beliefs and agricultural practices. This festival honors Mae Kongkha, the water goddess, and is a time for making merit and dedicating offerings to ancestors. Begin the evening with the stunning release of floating lanterns at the Gassan Panorama Golf Course in Ban Thi, Lamphun Province. Watch as the sky is illuminated with thousands of lanterns, creating a breathtaking spectacle.

Itinerary

• 4:00 PM: Bus Transfer from Downtown - Enjoy a free transfer service from Chiang Mai city. Catch a comfortable, air-conditioned bus at Lotus Pang Suan Kaew Hotel Parking. Remember to show your ticket or e-ticket at the reception! (Please arrive before 5:00 PM)
• 6:00 PM: Workshops and Activities - Dive into fun DIY crafts and soak up the lively, festive atmosphere.
• 7:00 PM: Dining & Cultural Experiences - Savor a delicious dinner while exploring the rich culture of Northern Thailand. Try an array of traditional dishes and snacks at Kae Hour, the Northern Thai Traditional Market, and be entertained by traditional music, folk dances, and other cultural performances.
• 7:30 PM: Stage Opens - Find your seat in the ceremony area and get ready for the spectacular shows ahead.
• 8:00 PM: Traditional Dances & Performances - Enjoy breathtaking performances, including the Tai Lue Candles dance with 16 dancers, the Victory drum and sword fire dance with 13 dancers, and the Indra God’s blessing dance featuring 21 dancers.
• 8:30 PM: Buddhist Chanting - Join in a respectful Buddhist ceremony with monk chanting. Please honor the sacred moment by avoiding eating or drinking.
• 8:45 PM: Mass Lantern Release (Khom Lay) - Watch as the night sky lights up with the collective release of lanterns—a truly enchanting experience.
• 10:00 PM: Event Concludes - The shuttle buses will take you back to Chiang Mai safely. Be sure to catch the last bus!

• Children from ages 0 - 5 will not be charged for this experience.
• Children from ages 6 - 10 will be charged according to the child rate.
• Children aged 11 and above will be charged according to the adult rate.

• To board the shuttle bus the tourists will have to arrive at Lotur Pand Suan Kaew Hotel (Bus Parking).
• The location of the event is Gassan Panorama Golf Course, Ban Thi, Lamphun Province.
• Make sure to arrive at the pickup spot at least 30 - 15 minutes in advance.
• Please note that the one Laten (Khom Loy) would be provided per three people.
• One flower float(Krathong) will be provided to each participant.
